The Ready, Set, Grow Farm to ECE Task Force
In 2017 the Food Trust, working with PHSA, convened Pennsylvania’s first Farm to ECE task force to craft recommendations for statewide strategies that support increased access to fresh, local foods and high-quality learning environments. The participants included leaders and practitioners from the ECE, agriculture, nutrition, public health and government sectors.
The Task force has increased awareness and knowledge of Farm to ECE and its benefits among Pennsylvania’s policymakers, key stakeholders, and the general public.
In the fall of 2018, the Pennsylvania Head Start Association will be taking the lead in convening the Task Force using the Task Force’s racial equity frame work and focusing on public policy and statewide strategies that support Farm to ECE through Ready, Set, Grow!
