The Food Trust Releases New Report: Emerging Strategies for Farm to ECE in Pennsylvania

What is farm to early care and education? Where do food, farming and early education systems intersect? What does farm to ECE looks like across the commonwealth? What are some potential strategies to knit together these systems to begin to create positive change for young children and their families, urban and rural farmers, and early care and education educators and staff?

Ready Set Grow: Emerging Strategies to Support Farm to Early Care and Education in Pennsylvania,” a new report, helps to answer these questions.

The Ready Set Grow report shares the story of farm to ECE, showcases providers who are adopting farm to ECE practices across the commonwealth and demonstrates why access to good food and high-quality learning environments are critical for every child in Pennsylvania. The need for equitable, resilient, responsive ECE and food systems persists in the Keystone state, and this report highlights examples of how existing state-level systems can help advance farm to ECE in every community.
