In March 2018, the federal government announced historic investment funds as part of its omnibus spending bill. The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) will be increased by $2.37 billion dollars per year over two years. This increase includes a $115 million increase for Early Head Start for the first time ever and a $5 million to support grants for infant and early childhood mental health. Public hearings on PA’s CCDBG FFY 2019-2021 State Plan were held in April and May.
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) invited stakeholders to review the draft plan and submit comments. Please see this link to read the comments submitted on behalf of The Food Trust.
